Default C70 creaking when going over bumps

Impulse bought a C70 as you do, and ive noticed that it creaks when going over potholes (i live in edinburgh there are millions of them) particularly when the roofs down. So i assume this is just natural flex but is there anything i can do about it? like adding support, does the wind deflector help?

or is there anything i can maybe lubricate the plastics so they dont make the creaking sound, its mostly from the back passenger area somewhere, not exactly sure where.

Bit obvious but if it happens when the roof is down, are you sure it is not the roof itself?

You will get an amount of creaking from a C70 as you say when the chassis flexes. I find the squeaks and creaks move around everytime the roof is used.

You could start by cleaning and lubricating all of the roof seals as these squeak when they dry out. Most C70's never get the roof serviced, but you should aim to do at least annually (easy job to do yourself).

I do occasionaly lubricate some of the panels if I get an annoying one (bit of silicon spray), but mine is '57 and 130k and they are only minor.

Turning up the music tends to help also!!

PS the wind deflector definately doesn't help. It's a clever folding design but probably addd rattles rather than reduce them. It just tucks under the rear headrests and locks into the holes behind the seatbelts, so no bracing effect.

yeah could be roof i guess, tbh i ithkn its the rear passenger compartment thingy, the one on the right is broken and stays open but the one on the left where it sounds like is coming from is closed..

check that the x brace is tight under the car . use felt pads to stop plastic parts rubing and rattleing . also keep door catches well lubricated as they can pop open when roof is down its a well documented fault with c70 s

Open it up and drive with it open to see if that's the source.
