Default 2002 V40 rear wiper

When we bought the car a couple of years ago the rear wiper cleared the swept area with no issue. When it was time to replace it I fitted a lucas replacement, this was terrible and missed most of the screen. I have tried other makes which all missed the screen in places. In the end I bought a genuine Volvo blade and arm, this has still made no difference.
Am I alone in this dilema as its driving me and my daughter nuts.

I've had 3 v40s and not one of them has had a satisfactory rear wiper, Renault Clio rear arms fit but new ones off eBay are plastic and my then 4 year old managed to break it, then we scrapped a 2005 Saab 9-3 estate at work so i liberated the arm from that, works perfectly.

One of the most common things I have seen over the years as a tech is the wiper arm itself seizing where you pull it to replace the blade.

Try a little wd40 on the arm mechanism where it swivels and then work the arm off and on the screen.

That fix works.

Having completed the mod, lubricated the arm pivots and fitted a new Bosch blade my wiper works perfectly.

Go into the search function on this section, 16th post down by member Muscleflex, it contains a link done by Gatos on the fix.

Found it thanks.
Only issue is that we have fitted a new genuine volvo arm and blade so I would assume it would work fine???????
Will give it a go on the old arm if I can still find it (I think we kept it) May even be worth giving it a go on the new arm I suppose.
Keep you posted when I get time to have a go at it.
