Just finished getting the pr--k out with my mate....This is a job that makes you question your whole life, Right up until the last Bast--d part where you have to get the last hose off. Surely the heater box must be the very first part they fit when building the car?? Off to a specialist in Luton to see about a recore now....

Hope it goes well.
Years ago when I had a heater matrix problem on my Morris Marina a local radiator repair specialist was able to sort it for next day. The time consuming part was dismantling the interior of the car to get the damn thing out.

Along similar lines i had to replace the heater matrix in a Mk3 Cortina many moons ago.

Remove 2 Jubilee clips on the heater hoses, remove two Pozidriv self-tappers, one at the top and one at the bottom of the access plate and pull the heater matrix out.
Disentangle it from the access plate, fit the access plate onto replacement matrix and Haynes it.

Took all of about 10 minutes only because i was double checking everything i was doing as i needed the car the next morning and didn't have time for a test drive that night.

Then i was sitting innocently at some lights when a stolen Yamaha R1 (presumably) which was being chased by Police decided to force his way between my car and the one next to me to escape and dragged his peg down both ny NS doors.....Doubt i will ever see any compo for that. does anyone have a couple of NS doors in metallic aubergine??

Report it to the Police, it makes you a victim of crime and they have a fund for repairs to innocent bystanders proprty when chasing criminals. Could be worth a try and you might get them repaired for nothing that way.

The timing of that sort of bad luck is always designed to cause maximum annoyance. I remember reading in a book on advanced driving many years ago that a collision whilst stationary with a criminal trying to evade the police is one of the few accidents you can be forgiven for being unable to avoid. You have my sympathy. Just a bit of a shame it was on the nearside otherwise you might have been able to do your civic duty and nail the bu***r with the door as he tried to get past.

Actually it was the O/s doors (got that wrong!) but it was over in seconds and i did not have the chance to do anything, All i could do was pull forward so the traffic could open up and let the Police through...
i am gutted as all the paint was original on the car.....

Do Nissens not do them? Searching the catalogue seems to suggest they do? Possibly LHD only? https://catalogue.nissens.com/Product - part number 73642
