Default Hybrid charging - which charging points?

Volvo D6 Hybrid, exactly which charging points can i or cannot use? I know the socket on the car is type 2 however when i logged on today for the first time at an ecotricity charger at Ikea Leeds the app said not suitable. Surely the car would simply draw a lower/slower charge (use less elektrikery units) and i would pay fir the kwh used?

I got a failure (red LED in car's charge port when trying to use a "normal" Tesla charge point in an hotel, so I've never tried again.

Plus, it's poor EV etiquette to use rapid charge points with PHEVs.

Personally I only use 3 - 7 KWh charge points but would push the boat out to 11 if it was the only opportunity to charge.
