I have left it with them for "further analysis".
Dont have a clue and suspect the "Volvo Specialists"are in the same boat.

HI Jod,the switch from my lads old 850 was different(it had a terminal less than mine had} i posted the part no's of both earlier in this thread.Thats not the problem though, every componant i have checked (of the fuel and ignition circuit) has continuity with not only its designated terminal (of the ECU) but several others as well which points to a shot cicuit somewhere, its a nightmare.
Still cant find a short, thought it might of been a seized cooling fan, stripped it out but found nothing.Still looking.

FIXED>I cant believe it.I feel like Frankenstein. After almost a year the car is now purring again.
After many months of testing,it has turned out to be a 12Volt feed to The Crank Sensor, when there should only be a feed of 1/2Volt approx.I took apart the whole of the engine compartment wiring loom and re wrapped it to find the fault. This has ended up Frying the ECU's three times.Fortunately I have been able to repair the ECU's myself (i have 2).
I would publicly like to thank Chris Rogers for his unstinting support and help in sorting out the problem,i think the total count of p/m's between us is running at 60 (thats just my inbox).Chris has not only given me great help on diognostics but all so even helped me into interprating Multimeter readings,he has the patience of Jobe.
Chris your a STAR .
Moral of the story is dont give up.Ask someone on the forum to help, its allways forthcoming.Long may it continue.
Kindest regards to everyone for their input and a spcial thanks to Chris.Regards to you all.
