Is the aux belt included in the 4 year 72k service? And if not should the garage of recommended its change?

About a month ago strange noises appeared at idle I ignored the issue but booked a service and asked them to look into it

Turns out the Alternator has packed up and I wound up with a £1200.00 bill
for the service new alternator belts etc

Annoyed me a bit as I had done the preventative maintenance. I reckon the dealer didn't do a great job of the tensioners and belts last year causing early failure of the alternator, my fault as I didn't take it back when the noises occurred on their replacement of the belts and tensioners

Just a note of caution to others

Other than that can't fault the car, really like it
Ach this has given me the heebiejeebies. I had my 62 V60 D5 aux belt and tensioner replaced in March at 45k.. similarly thought “that sounds a bit weird” on the next few starts..
Around 1 month ago I was cruising along at 50mph, after driving for 15mins, when a red triangle warning and the battery symbol popped up, which I believe suggests an issue with alternator charging. I pulled over, plugged in and no codes were present (of course Vida may have said otherwise). Restarted the car, drove home and the warning hasn’t appeared since. Unsettling!

The cambelt and tensioner was done at 54k by the main dealer, i spoke with them on Saturday and he informed me that the work was done as per recall instructions, strange thing was their paperwork says they fitted a mechanical tensioner ( as per the part number fitted on the p/work ) but there is a hydrolic one on the car, someone is telling porkies here...
