It is wrong , ( unless it is a non uk web site perhaps ) The correct information is always in VIDA which is updated at least every month .. and that is what i have stated . up until a few years ago the belt was done on the 6 year/108000 mile service whether you had done the mileage or not . But that changed to 108000 MILES or 10 years which ever comes first .

Does this mean, given the OPs exceptionally low miles, if the mileage is less than 54,000 miles, and the aux belt lets go at 9 years and 10 months Volvo will pay for a new engine if the service book is full of Volvo stamps?

It was on Volvo UK.

Now, not for one minute am I questioning your experience, ok yes I am, (but tbh I tend to believe what you say as Volvo sites can be wrong) why would it be wrong, or rather HOW could it be so wrong? In other words why have Volvo posted incorrect info on their sites regards something so important?

The Volvo dealer who serviced my car said the same as Clan. 54,000 miles or 10 years for aux belt. I asked because it was the four year service, my previous S60 D5 threw the inner strand of the aux belt between years 4 & 5.
Agreed to have it done next year at 5 years as at 6 it'll be over 54,000 miles.
Still not sure what kind of goodwill the OP can expect if one of the belts should fail within the specified service schedule especially as the public published interval is not the same as the workshop schedule.

True but going back to the original, why do Volvo state 6 years 108k for timing belt if it is wrong - because your average consumer would have no idea.

It might be a good idea to ask them ? It's not the first time their web sites have been way out of date .

Default How much?

It would be interesting to know how much it costs to have a new cam belt fitted?
