This is going to seem boring but the only issue I have with the V40 are the light bulbs in the tailgate, they are being progresively changed to LED's which I hope won't fail anything like as often as the bulbs did/ do - Mike

On a rainy day Gary, I would happily swap your 1.8 for my T4 lol
OK Alex, roll on the next rainy day and it's a deal!

Hi Mike

My rear lights used to fail on a regular basis (sometimes fortnightly), until I switched off my DRL's.

I haven't changed a bulb for 6 months now.

Unless you have bought some really high end LED's, unlike the ones on e-bay, be prepared to replace a few until you have a good set fitted.

I had to do this for my side markers (sometimes weekly), until I got a good batch.

No issues since.

Gary

There is a lesson in itself, Tom.

If you have to floor it to get out of a junction, it isn't safe to do so.

Also, spinning your wheels is an offence, which you can be fined and get points for.

Your tyres and pocket will thank you for being patient.

True.

This junction though relies on a quick getaway though lol. The odd gap now and again pops up and you can get out but I was a little impatient and ended up wheel spinning all over the place

Won't be doing that again.

I find, it's usually the lefthand front wheel that spin too easily when pulling away on a wet road, but if there is a passenger sat in the front, it pulls away ok !
Maybe a 2 or3 bags of sand on the front passenger seat would solve the problem when a passenger is not available ?

So with all that wheel spinning and no progress, your speedo was registering well over 100mph in a 30 zone, which has been recorded by the Co-op insurance black box in your car and thus increased your premium....

It's a damn good job I don't have one of those!

Got my renewal through today, £637

Not too shabby for 21 in a T4
