I have read of good reports from these people:
http://www.the-ecu-doctor.co.uk/ Might be worth a phone call.
If you can get a 2nd hand one, that might be cheaper. I got a 2nd hand pair of ECUs for my 940 from USA for £100 delivered (fortunately no import duty!!).
Keep us informed - I'm gripped!

Good evening to all,Serched all over today trying to sorce an ECU with the same numbers as mine,NO CHANCE,not even close.Got a quote for a new one and nearly bought it but then thought, suposing i put a new one in and the car trashes it or its not the fault, thats a real wedge up the shirt. I came down on the side of a Test/Rebuild,at about £150 rather than £600 plus and thats with a generous discount of over £100.Just got to wait now to see if the old ones damaged, time will tell.

I'm sure I read, somewhere, about somebody who refurbishes ECUs for very reasonable money? The specific recommendation I can't seem to find right now, but google it.

Default ECU Problems.

If my memory serves me correctly there have been several posts about ECU problems and even pictures showing the most likely "Dry Joints" or broken tracks which are easily seen and re-soldered. Is it not worth a try before spending lots of money?

I dont have the Knowledge to muck about with an engine management ECU,the one spoken about on hear is usually the ABS ECU, an entirely differant kettle of fish methinks.
