Goodbye. Hallo.
On Saturday I will be saying goodbye to my XC90 D5 SE AWD. Received as a ex-demonstrator Dec 04. Nearly eight years, nearly 114,000 miles. on average two trips to Southern Spain a year. What a great car. comfortable, stylish (getting old now) responsive (the odd lag, but who cares). Its carried kids, grandchildren, and everything in between. I have averaged 34.4 mpg.
No major problems. Big service 98K cam belt etc. One wheel bearing changed. AWD needed fixing. Had to change servicing agents. Had to share this with anyone seeking to buy one. Taking delivery of a brand new one on Saturday. Going for the exec. this time.Great deals going down. Can't wait. Thanks for the forums guys. |

I can understand your posting there - got rid of my 04 XC90 SE after having had it 6 years and covered over 60k miles in it (had 94k when sold) three weeks ago. No major issues, great car, didn't cost that much to run from the advice on here but knew that things would start costing a few thousand over the next 20k miles and the body work looked poor (don't get me started on Chips Away and smart repairs...!).
And changed it for an 11 XC90 R Design as wanted something different which handled a bit better, and looked a bit more funky! The more things change, the more things stay the same. |
