D5254T (to 2002, Audi) V70tdi 1998 Loss of power

My V70 has lost power? It happened a few months ago. Emission light came on. Took it to local garage who got the code ECM 20 Fuel shut off valve signal.
If error is erased it comes back straight away when used. It still runs ok but above 2000 rpm the power just isn't there. Its frustrating as it a great car and it usually has a bit of poke. The garage were unable to work out what fault is?

Id be interested in the replies here too my emissions light comes on in the morning but goes off after the 3rd restart during the day but no loss of power though

Your light is coming on for the gearbox faults bud. Its not an emissions light either (although it is the lambda symbol) it is the engine malfunction light.

To the op, I think you would be best to get the codes read by volvo specific software. The code you were given is a little vague. The fuel shut off solenoid is either open or shut, ie the car will either run or it won't. It doesn't send any signals it simply gets supplied a 12v feed to operate it.

Does any one use a place which they are happy with and don't pay a fortune?

It would be v helpful as I really don't want to scrap my car yet!!
