Sick ecm
Well after weeks of poking and prodding I finally found something concrete that is faulty.
After opening the ECM I found corrosion and what looked like burn around a small area of the PCB which was directly under the hole that Bosch kindly fitted for the purposes of allowing in rainwater.... I Cleaned if off and now at least the sensors are reading realistic values for intake temperature although still telling me that there is a urgent service required... and the 2900 code fault with another for the dpf and perhaps the EGR . But as all are in the exhaust end of things I am off to try if a run on motorway will clear out the pipes..... If this does not work any recommendations for ECM fixers would be welcomed.... |

2 faults remaincat!! Cat temperature exhaust and oxygen sensor outputs are high. Also engine service required urgent and red triangle... are these faults that need a few runs to clear and require Vida to clear or do I probably still have a problem in the ECM... Neither torque nor my old volvo BSR reader will clear them.... |

Sprayed the ECM with TEC 7 contact cleaner again today.
Now I am left with just two faults. Both of which appear to be open sensors both temp sensors one dpf one cat. Both sets of pins on the ECM are connected to each other but with some level of resistance. I am sure at this stage the ecu is ok. But possibly fried the sensors. So either wiring or sensor faults.... does any one know the resistor values that I could put across the feeds from these just to test the ecu... Regards.... Tony. |
