Question Fuel pump resistor mod?

Hi, new to the forum.

Has anyone here done the fuel pump resistor mod on a v40/s40 1.9tdi where you add a resistor/potentiometer into the fuelling loom which tricks the ecu and adds more fuel for more power?

It has been covered a lot on german engines but not so much (at all) on these volvo/renault engines.

All it does is trick the ecu into thinking it is a cold engine, for more power get a proper remap cos it will eventually bugger your engine, or if you wanna go faster get a T4 s/v40.

I have done that mod, its the one with the resistor in the MAF, replacing the IAT with a big resistor.

This car is a daily, but its also a car to mess around with, so I'd like to try all these DIY kind of mods for fun.
Most likely, I'll do the mod and then want my fuel economy back and un-do it!

Thanks for the reply though! Appreciate it

as said above if you really want/ need more power then get a proper remap. There is a reason why you can't find info on doing the resistor mod on these and that's because most people aren't that stupid and value some reliability.

As the old saying goes - "Cheap, Reliable, Fast - Pick 2"

Sorry it seems blunt but get it done properly first time and you wont look back.

Its hard to find the info alright.

Its more of a thing to try at the weekend, for the craic.

I'm not a complete idiot, i know its not the best thing to do, or even a good thing, but I still want to try it!

I will probably get it mapped properly is I have some spare money alright.

Thanks!
