V50 2011 intermittent starting
So been having issue with my Volvo V50 diesel 2011. It is intermittently starting. Sometimes I will come to the car and it starts first time. I will then drive it a short distance to do the school run come back to the car and nothing. I will turn the key and there will be a load click then nothing and tells me to turn the key. If I then release the handbrake and roll car forward or back very slightly while turning key it starts.
I had RAC out and they hit the starter motor while turning key and it started so had that replaced. Week of being okay and now same problem. Next RAC guy said it is the negative earth wire and when wiggled it started. Has been cleaned both ends and no damage and no apparent corrosion unless inside? Replacing this is a nightmare to get part. £300 from Volvo and no aftermarket ones available. or gamble on an older second hand one?
But neither explains why if I release handbrake and roll forward slightly it starts?!? Is it a dodgy starter motor put on?
