Default Reconditioned Turbos

http://www.ebay.ie/itm/321130466829?...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Does anyone have any experience of this ebay seller. Would it be wise to take a chance on this turbo??

My car has 350,000kms on it, so is not worth much so the cost of a main dealer turbo is making my eyes water.

Any help is much appreciated.

What's your car and engine?
What exactly is wrong with your current one and have you considered rebuilding your own?

It's a 2009 S80 D5 Geartronic 185 Executive

Turbo is shagged, according to a Volvo master tech.(actuator unit is kaput)

Rebuilding my own is not an option.

Would you take a chance on the turbo in the above link?

No I wouldn't.
I would swap or fix the actuator.

He also told me that the electric actuator unit is not available separate from the turbo??

It may be time to stop trusting this man.

You have to return your old one to them, which will then in turn be "remanufactured" as they say and sold on ebay. So, all things must be remanufacturable, including actuators.

So it's definitely a "20" series Garrett and not the inferior "17" series ??

From the looks of all those 20s and distinct lack of 17s, I would say yes.
