Default Oil pressure sensor location (xc90 D5)

Good afternoon, I have been looking over the D5 engine in my XC90 and I can't see the oil pressure sender.

Could anyone point me into the rough area i should be looking, i was expecting around the oil filter but couldn't see anything.

I have got an replacement oil pressure sender with a gauge output, which i intend to fit, based on a oil pressure issue I had with an old D5 engine.

any help greatly appreciated, I have had a look on google first but there isn't much info

Ant

If its an euro 4 d5 between 2005 and 2009 you probably dont have a pressure sensor
You can check it it should be a bit on the right beneath the oilfilter
Before you check it set the key in pos 2 and if the oillight doesnt light up you dont have one

Its also not possible to electronicly refit it (to connect it with the ecu pinout) but you can mechanicly , older euro 3 sensors fit in.
You have to remove the blindplug first en fit the old sensor in
I did that and also wired it and have a red small led sticking out discretely between the plexiglas and black plastic with a small resistor

Hi there, yes its a 2010 model so must be the euro 4 version
I cant see anything around the oil filter which kind of backs that up.
Is it possible you could send a photo, i would probably go the route you have with the retrofit of the euro 3 sensor

regards

It shows different than yours you need to find the blindplug

This is a t6 but its as good as the same , search just under the horizontal splitline a bit right of the oilfilter , yours has only a blindplug wich looks like a bolt
