RE: Frequency of oil changing
Hi ya,
Halfords do a Mobil ! oil change with a Champion filter the same as the Volvo one all in at £45. This is cheaper than i can get all the bits and they dispose of the crude. mark.

RE: Frequency of oil changing
Hi All
Got a local tyre place to match a Kwik Fit price of £34 for Mobil 1 and oil filter, supplied and fitted. Not worth getting your hands dirty for that money!! |

RE: Frequency of oil changing
The Kwik-fit standard oil is GTX Magnatec 10-40, but I definitely agree with Alex, I wouldn't use semi-synth in a performance car anyway and I definitely wouldn't use Duckhams QXR, OK its a semi-synth but a pretty low spec one IMHO. Especially with the mods you've done to the 'flying wardrobe' you want to ensure you get max protections from your oil and that means full synthetic. If you can afford all of the petrol/mods etc etc then you can afford the Mobil 1. I get it from Costco for I think 27-28 quid for 4 litres, but if Kwik-Fit do the change for you for 34 quid I'd go there, and why not take your own filter? If they're a quality outfit they shouldn't mind, don't get bullied by the 'I know best' man, always use OEM oil filters, its just not worth the risk.

RE: Frequency of oil changing
I was going to take my own Volvo filter but Kwik Fit absolutely refused to do it with a part I had supplied. So I voted with my feet and went elsewhere- their loss!

RE: Frequency of oil changing
A tyre, exhaust place called Autospeed on the outskirts of Bristol. Asked them to match the Kwik Fit price and they did.
