With two keys already you sound a bit like what doctors call the worried well - why on earth do you want a third key?

Thanks you all for the suggestions. And Stuart re the tunnel. I think my memories of a release handle belong with the 940's, def the one's that had seats in the boot or used to have. And nice to think older Volvo's aren't a thief's first choice. That much said, I garage I use over in Chiswick, who restore and repair Volvos, recently had a customers 740 nicked. Broken glass, broken steering lock. The thief was later caught, with stuff in the estate section. May be he was a bit old school (primitive even), a hot wirer of cars, and also the kind of person who likes an estate? I told the garage it was a fine opportunity for them to have a day out at Lakes breakers, before Lakes become history...

I know! Bad isn't it! But, in spite of my approaching state retirement age, I can't remember the last time I saw a Doctor. May be I should be worried that I can't remember :-) . Maybe I could talk about it at my weekly Yoga session, or bring it up at my monthly Acupuncture treatment?
But. It's a working vehicle. One of my careers involves walking and training dogs. A dog stuck in a car on a hot day is bad news, especially given the shortage of bricks at some locations, and the cost of glass. Or the embarrassment and difficulty of getting a dog back to base, without a car. And I have my own dog too, who's not very good with locks :-)

John.
