Agree with that. No point in spoiling the old ship as they say

I've stripped down completely and Big end and main aren't that bad but there is a very slight lip on two of the bores so I have a feeling it will need to be rebored to calm down my OCD

I suspect the message from Daniel (with wrong email address) is from this thread

Many thanks to everyone that contributed to the thread, and apologies for not coming back sooner. We have been recommended an engine overhaul outfit close to us, but they can only take the tall block - and have a twelve to sixteen week waiting list! Obviously, we cannot wait that long to get the car back on the road so have asked our local engineers to take the head off and check whether the lack of compression is simply a blown gasket or something more serious. Once we know that, we can decide what to do. Hopefully getting the car back on the road will also allow us to plan everything in a logical sequence, rather than trying to do everything right now.

The information on parts availability from Classic Swede is also very much appreciated and we will be on to you if there are any parts our engineers cannot source.

Thanks again for all your help, it was very much appreciated. Jon
