OP - first of all, consider changing your alternator freewheel pulley if you haven't already.
My '11 XC90 had been chirping for around a year. I hoped a full belts/tensioners change would cure it so I fitted genuine; timing belt & tensioner, aux belt & tensioners/pulleys and the alternator freewheel. No change. My power steering pulley had maybe 1-2mm of axial play so I fitted a new pump and refreshed the fluid. No change. I fitted a refurb OE alternator. No change. I changed the aircon pulley bearing. No change. During all these shenanigans I could still see the aux belt wandering side to side about 2mm either way. I cleaned my old aux belt with motorbike chain cleaner and refitted it...noise gone and aux belt no longer wandering. My next move is to try and get the vendor to refund the aux belt seeing as I'm a bit ****ed due to throwing an additional £300 and countless hours at the problem...
