They suggest that the oil level needs to be reduced to between 1/2 -3/4 way up the dipstick but most of those engines seemed to be the D5. Any-one tried it on the 2l?
Basically to date - Had codes read by 2 different people using Vida Dice -same codes as stated earlier in this thread. Both got exactly the same codes and both eluded to replacing the DPF sensor in the first instance with an OEM replacement. Thats been ordered from Volvo Swansea. Anyway, electrical fault suspected in either the sensor or wiring - since the vida dice graphs in both instances showed it dropping in and out of pressure fairly consistently. Process of elimination basically. The DPF or pipes are not blocked btw. Pipes were replaced 3 months ago. No low Eloys codes or anything else either. Hence this theory. Thanks to Dancake (on here - sound lad). The plot thickens. Will update.

Genuine Volvo S40 dpf sensor fitted (30757189). So far appears to have cured the problem.
