Default B200E Thermostat opening temp (UK spec car)

A bit of an obscure question perhaps, but Ive just changed the perfectly working original thermostat on my ‘88 240 and now it runs too cool on the temp gauge (which was functioning correctly).

It would seem the replacement aftermarket thermostat has a lower opening temp. Annoyingly, I thought about keeping the original thermostat (I really only needed a new seal) but talked myself round to not hoarding everything….and also didn’t look at the temp marker on the replacement.

The Haynes manual states there are 3 temp ranges: 82c 87c, and 92c but doesn’t say which is appropriate for a UK car.

Anyone know by chance as I need to order a new one.

Thanks.

Stuart

92C is the one you want and it makes a noticeable improvement to the heater output too . and engine efficiency if you can notice it ...
