I have emailed crash data too see if they can confirm that a weak battery would cause the fault again.they have replied in a few mins to confirm my suspicions that the battery is the probably the cause especially because it's happenI got on frosty mornings when the battery is weaker they confirm weak battery can cause the srs warning hope this helps anyone else with the same issue 👍🏻🍺

A weak battery can cause the SRS light to linger a bit longer than usual on the dash. It should extinguish after a short period of time (usually less than 15 seconds) even with a weak battery with the engine running. If it stays on, it points to a fault within the SRS or charging system.

If the alternator fails and stops charging (almost inevitable at some point post 100k miles on 4 cyl diesels) - the first indication of the voltage getting low is usually the SRS warning.

Just seen your signature - you have the D5 which has a Volvo spec alternator not the Ford rubbish fitted to 4 cylinder diesels so its likely to be fine. I would get the battery checked though.
