A couple of questions. Does it come with all the pipes needed? And where did you get yours from?

Hola! Shadeyman, any chance of close up picky of the pipes where the purge needs to be connected? Considering doing this to my 163bhp D5. Car has been sat idle for most of this year and is now sounding a bit rattly.

Hi Shadeyman. Looking at this setup I assume that once connected, the diesel purge is simply "sucked" through the lines by the high pressure fuel pump instead of been pumped to it.

Been considering it on my 200,000 mile D5 163.

How long did it take to use up the can of diesel purge ?

Thanks

Sorry its taken me so long to upload these pics, things at home are a bit hectic at the moment.

I took these pics before fitting jubilee clips to the pipes, basically to make it easier for me to remove them next time.

Yes the high pressure pump sucks it in but make sure you bloke the feed from the pump in tank or you'll have diesel squirting all over the place. I had the wife sit in the car for 45 minutes while I tinkered. She varried the engines RPM for me holding it at a max of 3500. I guess it took about 30 minutes to use 90% of the can. I didn't want to risk the pump sucking up air so I stopped at about 90% and poured the other 10% into the tank.

I didn't notice any changes straight away but over the following few days the engine was much smoother and quieter. I guess thats due to the ECU adjusting to cleaner injectors etc..

Do the diagrams / pictures cover my year & engine?

Some old pipe and a Jeremiah Weed glass. I'm sure Diesel Purge is compatible with all diesel engines. Just kept topping up the glass.

The engine bay looks different on my 2008 s40 d5, can someone help me locate the fuel inlet / return pipes?

What did you use to block the pipe coming from the tank?

I found 2 bolts that were a tight fit and pushed them into the end of the fuel pipes to block flow and return from the tank.

Not sure where the fuel lines are on a 2008 S40, hopefully someone in the S40 section will answer your post there.
