2014 S80 - Clutch pedal stuck down
Tried to start my 2014 S80 today and noticed a couple of things, the drivers seat wasn't in the usual position (maybe coincidence might just have picked up the wrong key) and the clutch pedal was stuck down so car wouldn't start. Tried pumping the clutch pedal but no joy, read a post about pulling clutch pedal up manually which I did and the car started normally. Switched it off and back on and everything seemed normal. It is dark now so I can't look for leaks but I will investigate in daylight. Has anyone else had this problem or can anyone suggest where to start looking please?

Slave cylinders seem to be a bit prone to giving trouble on these cars, not had it yet on my xc70. Bummer is if it's the slave cylinder the box has to come out to change it and are you not going to look at the clutch and flywheel while it's out. Very soon a substantial bill is faced.
Paul.

2014 S80 D4 Common Faults?
Car is booked in next week for the sticking clutch pedal fault, I am expecting a huge bill which unfortunately isn't the first with this car, its already had the cylinder head rebuilt and has still only covered 47k miles. This has got me thinking although I love the car maybe its time to say goodbye once this is fixed. Could anybody out there tell me are there any other common faults on these cars likely to present me with huge bills at such a low mileage?

Well online LUK slave cylinder is is 80 pounds, best of best. I would go for some workshop and change it.
47k open engine-it's too much. I would be mad also |

Thus far, I've driven 2-3000 of miles in the last 5 months, mostly journeys over 25 miles (some were 100's) - and no problem at all. It's a gamble I guess (but isn't all car ownership!LOL!) ...but it cost 1/3 of a new slave/clutch/flywheel. Just getting the fluid changed would be the cheapest option I'd look at first though. Hope this helps!
