Default Key tag

Good morning everyone!
I wanted to buy a key tag for my XC60. I have only one doubt: how is it reported that the key tag battery is low and needs to be replaced before it stops working?

Do you mean the sports key buttonless key fob ?, the usual sign the battery is running low is first use on the morning is usually slow to unlock and might need a few goes or holding the handle longer, the driver display will also flash up a "key fob battery low" when it is very low but that does not always happen. (or I change battery before it comes on due to slow response)

I have replaced the battery in my sports key several times by taking it apart and just tape it back together. Its always in my pocket and no-one ever sees it.

Thank you for your answer.
So can the key tag battery be replaced? Because on the volvo website they write that the entire key must be replaced.

It takes a bit of reverse engineering (butchery) to replace the battery but it can be done, officially it is a throw away item, it is a sealed waterproof fob so it requires cutting open and the dead battery connection tiny spot-weld prising off but it is not a hard job, I have replaced my battery 3 times, it is the only fob I use.

There are a few old threads on the forum about it.
