Default Mystery rubber part found in boot of S80

Hi,

I've pulled out the spare wheel and tool kit and had a good look around but can't see where this part could be used.

It measures about 40mm across its largest diameter and bears no part number. Its internally threaded, adding to the intrigue.

It might have nothing to do with my car for all I know, it might be a completely random part from a golf trolley!

Can anyone shed any light on my query?

Thanks
Paul

only a hunch, but it might be the top of the rear strut.

oh god the steering .. that's a heavy engine to have sitting on the front axle with no power assistance.. after the gym sometimes I very nearly couldnt drive it lol

I dropped mine 2" and put wide BM wheels on it, that thing had so much grip it was ridiculous, literally any corner any speed.. and a sports backbox .. burbleburble pop pop pop happy days

.... and wasn't the clutch a work out for your quads too?

It was my first RWD car and I spun it in the wet within the first week of ownership. Owned 3 RWD cars since and I could catch all of these when the tail went, never caught the 360 it always span. As you say, happy days
