Default 1.9 D engine in the S/V40s - interchangeable parts?

Hi everyone,

I am looking at getting a 1.9 TD S40 (series 1) and I know that the engine is the 1.9 engine from Renault (boooo! lol) am I correct that this engine is the same that is in the Laguna and Megane? If so what sort of tuning options are there available? I am guessing that they are remappable due to the 102bhp and the 115bhp V/S40s are the same engine, just a different map.

Also, I know that Renault also do a 1.5 Dci engine in the Megane, I take it that all the engine mounts would be different if I were to think about fitting the 1.5 engine into a S/V40 body? I know that some Astra estates have a 1.3 CDTi engine in them for the sake for fuel economy, just wondering about if anyone knew about the 1.5 Dci engine as well?

Anyhow, back to my original question with the 1.9 engine, I am just thinking about parts sourcing as I know as its French and electrical it will break at some point, could I get injectors/remaps/tuning parts that are for Lagunas/Meganes to work in the Volvo S/V40 or are the ECUs and injectors completly different? I am just thinking that when searching for parts, it will be easier to search for 'Megane' or 'Laguna' parts if its exactly the same engine etc.

Sorry for the newbie sort of question, but as the injectors are direct feed and ECU driven, there should be some headroom for tuning etc

I have the same Renault engine. Some internal components are specifically made for Volvo. As far as I can tell at least oil pump can be swapped from clio or laguna, I bought Lagunas oil pump of ebay, looks the same, but I haven't changed that oil oil pump yet. But looks the same. I Will confirm this tomorrow.
I think that injectors will fit as well( I have some pictures of them in one of my threads, search for: ''this is how engine looks from inside'' or something like that)

Ah ok, its a bit like Mazda with their BP05 engine being the same block but slightly different ancillaries for certain cars, makes sense I guess.

Do you know if the mapping and other bits would be the same though, ie same throttle bodies and ECUs?
