Default no nearside fron lights

my v40 2004 has no lights front nearside bulbs are ok originally head and side were working but after checking the dipped bulb they all stopped working nearside are ok

Have you checked the sidelight bulb? Is the main beam working? Also, can you remove the dipped beam bulb and measure the voltage and let us know if it is 0V or 12V

Probably the CEM relay has failed, which is a very common problem in these cars after 10-15 years. If not the CEM, then a wiring issue.

Headlight CEM is located behind the panel below the steering wheel, roughly where your right knee is. You can access it by taking the panel screws out and sometimes a firm (but not harsh) tap will be enough to free off a sticky relay, even just temporarily. The relays are mini ones soldered directly to the PCB within it and if you are skilled at soldering (unlike me) they can be replaced. I have a couple spare as I bought two from RS Electrical but haven't had to fit them in the end as the problem fixed itself about a year ago and hasn't re appeared since.
