The cubby hole is this one :

Should be a small loop to lift it up at the wheelarch end, if not, lift the flap over the spare wheel and lift the front end of the cubby hole cover near the wheelarch.
Same area by the looks of the connecter half way down this topic.

I'll try and get some pics tomorrow, this is at the back of the car on the left BEHIND the fuel filler and nowhere near the tank!

A spare fuel pump relay is always worth having in the car, they are a bit underrated. If it's faulty order 2 so you have a spare.

Hi Tony, Will do. Last night I ordered a fuel pump relay, ignition amplifier, and a crank sensor.

Had another play to no avail.

Bridged the fuel pump relay. Put a lead from battery positive to blue connector on coil. No start.

If a crank sensor has failed does that have any link to the fuel pump power?

Would it be a good idea to put a live feed on pump wiring to confirm pump is working, once I have location for pump wiring harness?

James.

If the CPS isn't working, the fuel pump won't run. However if you have a regular spark then it should.

Been busy so far today so haven't got the pics yet, will hopefully get them soon. Yes, direct feeding the pimp is a good test.

Sorry, no pics as yet, the wind was at gale force and i was trying to get the hound out of the car without her running off to get her oats from the nearest available male dog, regardless of breed!

When i returned having worn her out, not only was the wind still at full force but it had wet stuff in it too!

Meanwhile if you open the tailgate and look at the floorspace between the rear light and wheelarch on the left, you should find a small vinyl loop at the front end - lift this and the 3-way connector for the pump and sender is under there.

Will have a look tomorrow. A wild wet day here too!

Good luck on the dog front, keep a firm grip on the lead!

Found the wiring plug in the left rear cubby hole and connected a live feed from battery to the pink wire terminal.

Also used my multimeter and used the positive probe on the pink wire and black probe on black wire, and also tried grounding black probe to car body. No Voltage with ignition on.

No pump sound and wouldn't start. Battery measured with my voltmeter and quite flat at 12.2 volts, so back on charge.

Voltage at rear light with ignition on was 10.4 volts, so very low.

The fuel gage and rev counter needle while cranking were wobbling about slightly.

Anything else I can try?

James

If there is no sound from the pump with a direct feed it's safe to say the pump isn't working. As it goes, 12.2V isn't flat, it's about 60% :

What year is your car James and do you know if you have the second pump under the car?

Should I of heard it buzzing inside the car, as I didn't?

It's a 1996 on a P reg. Under the passenger seat there is a cradle but think its a fuel filter?

James.
