Google is the wrong place to look - your AFM is the place to look! That way you can find the number and then look for one online, rather than trying to second guess something that has been put on the web from an unknown source.

Nuts
I've been running around after a friend who has been sectioned. Maybe tomorrow.

I hope your friend recovers quickly! Meanwhile the car can wait a few days!

Its called a narrow band O2 sensor because its band of load is very small. It works at idle and VERY light stable loads. For example if you can achieve closed loop mode at say 50mph (which is really the max speed along the flat), if you accelerate even slightly it will go into open loop mode and just chuck fuel at the engine based on a memory map. It only detects O2 (ie a lean condition), you can't use that in a dynamic load situation. It needs a stable load and the ECU oscillates the mixture trying to keep the cross over point in the middle. The O2 sensor is like a switch it is either on or off, it doesn't measure mixture. A wideband does measure mixture and works over a larger load range. |

My 940 (2.3 turbo 165bhp version) only does 18mpg of all I do is drive it round town. But on a steady 65mph cruise on the motorway it can get 40mpg, both tested brim to brim not guessed!
It doesn’t bother me as the car is so cheap to run in all other departments and is super reliable. I’ve also checked absolutely everything to try and improve it and everything is running perfectly so nowt I can do!

Progress?
Brake squeal cured by new pads all round.
We shall see about the mpg when there is again anywhere to go to - both my GF and my nearest daughter are in different parts of the London tier 2 lockdown at the moment. Both my Sports get 23mpg in mixed running without too much enthusiasm - typically 30 miles of A2 and M25 at a steady as close to 80 as the real world permits, then 12 miles of A roads at between 30 and 40 and more queues. Back again after the weekend. And perhaps two or three shopping trips.
