  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Blanking EGR is it worth it?
Does in need any software update?
Any improvements?

the EGR works very well on these engines , It will cause engine to go into low power mode , why would you want to do this?

If everything is working correctly, the EGR doesn't clog up so if your car is well maintained, I wouldn't bother with blanking.

If anyone's EGR is badly restricted, they may as well fix the cause rather than cover the symptom.

blanking worked well on my mondeo 4 pot.

I cannot comment for the volvo.

If you do do it, use thick steel not a coke can or alu as it gets hot hot.

Also worked well on my 2008 disco tdv6 had to fit 2 of them, also did both of my freelander2 one a 2009 the other a 2010 2l no problems also did a mates F/L2 last
year no problem all kits bought on fleabay

i didn't notice any difference to my D5 163, so i removed it again. Was done whilst trying to fix another issue.

Other vehicles like my vans and landy have all benefited greatly for it. Think the D5 is just a well designed lump with better control than the primitive diesel lumps on my other vehicles.
