Default Pioneer stereo, front and rear the wrong way round.

Hi all, I have swapped the aftermarket pioneer stereo from my old V40 to the t4, using the harness adapter and aeriel adapter that were already present in the car, however, in an attempt to get things sounding more equalled out I decided to adjust the balance as the front speakers are a lot louder than the rears, so imagine my surprise to find that the front and rear balance are the wrong way round, in that setting the balance fully to the front plays just the rear speakers, and setting it fully to the rear plays only the front speakers, which is really odd as it didn't do this in the other car.

Has anyone ever had this with a P2 and an aftermarket stereo, as aside from physically pulling and refitting the pins in the harness adapter from front to rear and visa versa I can't really think of any other way of rectifying it.

Thanks in advance
