Default front strut help v40 gdi 2002

i'm not 100% sure if I am right in my thinking can someone confirm I am right or wrong.i think the lower spring stop is at the end of the little rectangle cut out on the strut spring base, the second part is you rotate the top spring seat 20% using the hole in the strut parallel with the 2 large bolts that attach the strut to the hub and the rubber dimple in the top spring seat.
thanks m cooper

i was going to add photos but they will not load

Pictures would make it easier but from what I can remember the lower spring seat isn’t completely flat and slope in the shape of the spring with like you say a stop at some point likewise with the top mount but not quite as sloped and it’s more the rubber cushion

there is no obvious spring seat stop at the bottom but the spring on the other side seems to stop at the end of the small rectangle cut out in the plate on the strut

Is it hard up against the edge of the rectangle I think it should almost facing the rear of the car when on the vehicle
