1991 16v 940 GLE saloon stainless exhaust

Does anyone know of any suppliers of stainless exhaust systems for my 1991 twin cam saloon? Local to Birmingham would be best. It has a CAT but id like to have a system without the CAT installed. any advice much appreciated!

With regards decatting - you'll need to have lambda sensor boss in new exhaust - also check with you MOT station whether it can be tested as non-cat. We had a 240 of the same year and the the gas analizer would only allow it to be tested as a CAT car. If that was the case fitting lpg would ensure it could pass emissions without the CAT.

you only need a CAT if the car is newer than August 1992 (K-reg)

It doesnt need a CAT, because its slightly too old. I have heard "decat" exhaust pipes are around for other cars. Even if it was new enough to need a CAT, its no guarrentee that it would fail an MOT. A friend of mine had a K reg granada that he removed the CAT from, and he had no problems come m.o.t time. (and it was a real M.O.T before anyone asks!)

Yes that is the requirement but the computer systems used on the gas analysis would only allow us to test an early 92 240 as a CAT car!

With regard to your question on suppliers.... these guys got a good review on the forums not so long ago. I bookmarked their website for future reference, and they have a centre in Walsall.
