My next tyres will be

Michelin Pilot Sport PS4.

Toying with the idea of transferring the acoustic foam insert from the Pirelli to the replacement tyres.

100% agree

I'm a long way off needing a replacement set of tyres, but already planning on Michelin PS4's - had them on my previous BMW, great tyre.

Currently running on the Conti Premium Contact 6's that came with the car. They're good but a bit noisy, and the stiffer sidewall (than the PS4's) impacts ride too much in my opinion.

I would have gone with the Michelin P4S but they dont come in the size recommended for 21" wheel. As your car has 20" maybe you will get the correct size.
Also the Conti Sports contact 6 has a silent option. maybe they are not that noisy?
