Hey guys,

bought this like 4 weeks ago privately.

after like a week my wife left the lights on while at work and drained the battery. Tried to start it like 49 times before getting a jump. Started fine (obviously)

on the way home it started losing power and fairly quickly came to a stop. Wouldn’t start. I showed up and tried jumping it. Nothing. Eventually left it for 5 minutes and it sprang into life without a jump.

drove to a local garage. They ran it the next day, plugged it in to the computer and it gave out no faults.

put diesel cleaner in a full tank and it has been fine for a couple of weeks. Last night. Driving around, pulled out of a junction and it started losing power. Stopped. Wouldn’t start. Left it for a few minutes and then it started again. Drove it about for 20 mins. Went home, switched off and straight away tried to start again. Wouldn’t start.

Left it for a few hours and tried again. Started straight away.

any ideas? Just put a full tank of fuel in it, first time since I filled it with the diesel cleaner additive. Don’t think that matters, but just saying.

hope you can help, I’m covid skint and need some reliability to get me to a job!!

Check engine earth strap hasn’t parted, usually just inside the black sheath at the starter motor end.
