Default C70 T5 GT '04 Convertible for spares

Sadly the time has come to say goodbye to the old bus. Having failed it recent MoT for lighting problems which whilst not a major problem there were a few advisories which means it probably won't make it next year.

I am putting on here first to see if there is any interest before calling the scrapyard.

Good bits:

Engine - 2.3 T5 Stage 0 (BSR) giving 263BHP, 311ft/lbs Torque 78k and serviced every year (average yearly mileage 4-6k)

Refurbed and unmarked alloys in a dark bronze finish with good tyres

Everything (apart from the lights at the moment) works as it should but as I said it is probably only useful for parts now.

Open to any sensible offer it just seems a shame to see an excellent engine go to waste.

Don't scrap it. You are being short sighted. Spend a few pounds on it and get it roadworthy. It will be worthwhile!

I didn't want to have to scrap it but I know it will probably fail it's MoT next year as the steering rack is starting to leak and all attempts to find either a seal kit or refurbished steering rack has been fruitless.

Despite its current woes with the lighting it runs so smoothly it still brings a smile to my face whenever my right foot "slips" a little

Had I a garage to keep it in I could have and possibly would have taken it off the road and spent some time restoring it but the simple fact is, I don't and with this goddam virus hanging around I don't want it sitting idly outside for another 6 months gathering dust.

Cosmetically it is 'tired' and needs a few things tidying up, the bonnet has been resprayed sometime in its past and the paintwork has turned into some weird matt finish??? a few little scrapes here and there, all minor stuff, the roof needs a good clean and it all becomes a bit too daunting for me to even contemplate.

Seal kits are available on eBay for £40, from partsmonster if I recall correctly, or £50 from Charlton Volvo Centre.
