Polestar optimisation - updated software
I recently found out that Polestar optimisation has slightly changed its software. Reinforced midrange numbers. Well nothing special but better than nothing. I guess that slight improvement that some said to notice, from origin to modified, will now be a little bit more noticeable.
Here's the example of the D4 engine. What do you think? Write down below your opinion.

Well the difference should be significant. An extra 11hp in the mid range and wider rev band for the mid range power and torque. The only problem is, that you have to wait for the update to be done when your next service is due or you need to pay for total upgrade now. |

This is only on certain models, it cannot apply across all engines.

My one is S90 D5 and it is now available with improved figures as well. The previous Polestar software was with power mid-range of 205hp and the latest one is 222hp (see below), which is quite big difference. |

Can you really feel the modest 5% increase overall, and less than 10% increase in power midrange?

On a fine tuned machine like an SPV Volvo that is constantly operating near the limits with gearbox that is never more than two gears away from the correct one? Do you have to ask?

Yes you would definitely feel the difference, especially when you accelerate from 30mph to 50mph or from 40mph to 70mph and so on. This is where the biggest benefit from Polestar come in play. |
