Brides Dad seeks P1800!
For a number of years now I have been wanting to buy and run a P1800 but something has always over prioritised it. My daughter gets married in June this year and I would dearly love to drive her to the church in one and then me and Mother of the Bride to the reception (great photo shoot!).
Any variant of P1800 considered but would ideally be looking for a white one with red interior. Can anyone help? I'm after a runner not a project at this stage please as I intend to use it daily. |

There goes the bride!
An 1800 as a wedding wagon? It's a fantastic idea, and it's something I'd pay money to see!
I have an 1800ES, and I must admit, it's a struggle for me to get in and out of the drivers seat with any dignity. As for a bride coping with the car, complete with wedding clobber............well, are you sure? More to the point is the lucky gal herself OK with it? If the getting in and out of the front poses a challenge, don't forget that the rear seat only just about accommodates a small child, but even then, access and egress is a lot less than demure! I'm 5'11", and I don't think I have ever actually sat in the back of my ES - I'm not sure I could get out again! It's a wonderful idea - if you pull it off please be sure to post the pics on here! Good luck Jack |

Please do post pics if it goes ahead. This is a fantastic idea and a car I have always loved. We have a P1800 in our transport museum in Glasgow(bodies built at Linwood plant) and it is always on my must see list.

1800 Wedding Car!
Hi Trev,
As the proud owner of an 1800ES I had exactly the same thought for my wedding in 2007. My new wife and I left the wedding venue in my '72 ES (see photo), apparently the metallic gold paintwork went well with her dress! Go for it, find the right car, and post some pictures of your daughter's big day. Regards, Paul |

Volvo for a bride
Hi and great to know that there are a few 'crazy' ones like me out there. I think the ideas superb as I did this myself with 18 Volvos. I know what others thought, but everyone loved it. I am Classic Volvo crazy with my own 'workshop'. Let me know what's the address for this function and I may be able to help. I have a P1800E which I drive everyday to school. Ironically, it's also gold in colour. My number is 078 2887 9494. Thanks from Kassie
