Default 13 pin socket

13 pin socket is only a legal requirment on new cars. Tow equip etc all give you the option os the old 12n and 12s options as most of us in the uk are still towing older vans. In fact I havent seen a van in the uk with the new plug fitted although we saw some in Germany last summer.

[QUOTE=VOLVO TEE5;433256]Hi everyone,

I am new to caravanning and I require a tow bar for my 2004 s60 t5,

I was wondering if you guys know of a good website or store that sells them at the best price etc, I am not too fussed if it is single or dual electrics TBH,

The caravan I intend to tow is 1100kg also do you think I should be using a stabiliser bar?

Thanks for all the help

Hi,

Your replies seem to have detracted somewhat from your question, did you end up finding the best spot as I to need one for the exact same car. Are there any issues with the electrics?/ do you need the stealers to do anything?.

Many thanks Neil.

I bought a Brink detachable from Towequipe on ebay.
Provided a very good service with an excellent product.

I just got a towbar from this place for my V70 they do a few of the Volvo range
http://www.a1-tow.com/

and as some one else has already said depending on the year of the caravan it may have a stabilizer built into the hitch but it may require a special towball( AL-Ko for instance) for it fit to the car, if it is one of the old style hitches then the leaf spring type of stabilizer are best such as Snakemaster & Bulldog.
