Default XC90 texts don't work

Have my phone connected and all that stuff, and have checked that the "allow notifications" is checked in the BT menu - and whilst I have the "messages" app available texts/messages to my phone don't get delivered to the car. It works fine with CarPlay - any clue? I don't think it's the new iOS11 notifications block whilst driving as I have told it I'm not driving but still no sign. Do others get texts etc through the Volvo system ok on iOS?

Yes works for me on iOS 11. But it shows only messages that arrive while your phone is connected to the car. You can not browse them. You only get a "ping" sound and a message at the bottom of the screen that a message arrived and if it should read it to you. You can either choose yes or no and that is it.

If I remember correctly, you need to find your car on the iPhone's Bluetooth menu. Tap the 'i' symbol and ensure that 'receive notifications' (or whatever it calls it) is ON.

Should work after that. I use the right side steering wheel button to read them out.

You can't send via Bluetooth though, or at least you couldn't on the previous iOS.

Yep, the notifications thing is checked open - but I know I've had new messages when I've been driving (they appear on my watch) but not on the car. Weird.

It is entirely random on my V90 as far as I can tell. All set up from car and Android point of view. Some days the texts appear. Some days they don't. And more often than not they don't.

Could it be that your device only 'posts' notifications to one other bluetooth device. I.e. it sees that you watch (which was maybe the first in the paired list) has received and displayed the notification, so it doesn't also display it on the car? Maybe worth testing without the watch. I don't have a watch, so am only trying a guess.

I have a Fitbit and get messages on both watch and car. I can type a reply but it won’t send, I’m using an iPhone 7 Plus on ios11.

Default Network connection and Apple CarPlay

While we’re discussing phone connection has anyone managed to keep the car connected to the the Volvo network while also being connected to Apple CarPlay? My kids like to connect their iPads to the car Wi-Fi via my phone but won’t work when connected to CarPlay.
