V40 towbar wiring difficulty

Attempting to connect a 7pin socket into the wiring loom in the boot we have found most of the connections using a probe, however great difficulty finding the fog light wires at the moment. we have stripped off the cover on the boot door to trace the wire, however it will somehow have to be magically fed through the boot door galleries to connect into a sensible lower position or alternatively a wire fed back up into the lighting cluster.
Cant believe that it is that complecated or are we missing something??

are you saying that the rear fog lights are part of the tailgate and the rest of the rear lights are part of the main body ?.
