My 480 Turbo, combined I usually get about 33mpg, on short/quick journeys e.g. when I changed jobs to one closer to home, i was getting as little as 25mpg. Now driving the 740 to work anyway......
However on long runs, to/from London, and on the way back from north Wales on holiday I have managed 40-42mpg, without modifying my driving, goes to show how much better for the car long journeys are.

Same as you Chris!

I have an Auto Turbo and the manual.

The Auto really is 4mpg worse per gallon,as Volvo say!

Its never done my cars any harm to wind out the MAF screw to get better MPG when times have been hard though.As long as yer plugs arent whiter than the cliffs of Dover!
