Default window runner access / fix

hi again techies

ok my S40 drivers window wont go all the way up, its slightly dropped at the door opening side, so gets caught in the runner when going up and therefore stops, a helping hand and it will go up.

thought i would have a look at the runners / guide to see if i can see where its broken.

are there any guides on this fix about? i done a search but nothing came back.

i can get the inner door card off, but where do i go from here?

cheers.

The Haynes manual is also very vague. I would imagine, like most cars, where the glass attaches to the window regulator there will be elongated adjustments. Sounds like one of your bolts has come undone or fallen off completely.

Hope this helps...

I've not done the one inthe Volvo, but in 2 previous cars.

Take off the door trim and you'll see the guts of it. Sounds like the runner wheel axle has gone, like Baffler says, or alternatively has worn or derailed a bit.

You'll know straight away once the trim is off.

You didn't say if it was electric or manual windows...

As far as I know all S/V40's have electric front windows...but I'll stand corrected :-)
