Default problem cruise control

i've a v40 2001 1.8 gdi and the cruise control doesn't work light on dash board comes on but doesnt engage can anyone point me in the right direction for a DIY fix as i am very handy with the tools you name it and i've fixed it without going to the dealers cheers Tony

Default may have fix ???

had the same problem. brake switch was activated telling the cruise that brakes were on. after ajstmt. works ok...

Yes, usual issue is either one of the switches on the brake or clutch pedal.

Most common is the clutch as it has the most use/punishment.

Follow the pedals upwards. The switches are there.

btw i changed both switches and now my cruise control works fine
