Default v40 dash lights

Hi,

Whilst into my first few hours of ownership of a lovely 2000 T4, the dash lights have turned off on the middle air control, computer control knob and headlight switch.

Are the bulbs easy to get at ?

Thanks
Jason

Yes they are is the answer.
I am intrigued to know if they have all blown as I have had an issue with the headlight switch bulbs failing, which I think is down to a fault in the Central Electrical Module (CEM - I Tthink it is called that)

Good luck

It depends on whether you have ECC (electronic climate control) or manual select?

For the ECC type you must use a small flat screwdriver to access the retainer tabs which are hidden in the little grills located on both left and right of the selector panel. BE CAREFUL not to damage the ECC resistor inside the left grill. Once these are released you can manipulate the panel out. You will then see four screws, two top screws that hold the switch housing in place and the lower two hold the radio surround. You'll need to remove the radio (make sure you have the code) and then the radio surround (two screws at the top as mentioned and one above the ashtray) in order to drop down the switch housing. The bulbs are removed/replaced from the rear of the housing. Hope you understand that lot...

Pictures of the three bulbs for the ECC type. Volvo part # 30612503. I paid around 2.60 Euro each.
