  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Talking Clutch Adjustment

Just a quick question, my bro has a 2000 440 2ltr manual gearbox. He wants to know can the clutch be adjusted??? He has been told that it is the hydrolic type of clutch in the car?? I wouldnt know cos i drive an auto cos im a lazey sod and live 250 mile from him LOL.
Any help would be appreciated.

Do you mean S40? Production stopped in '96 for the 400 series.

S40 will have the hydrolic system. I don't think it can be adjusted on the 2.0L (self adjusting on turbo models). He may have air in the system or else the slave cylinder or clutch is coming to the end of life.

Sorry yes your right it is the V40 and I suspected the same as you Just found out he had clutch replaced 500 miles ago!!!

Probably air trapped in the system. If he had it fitted by someone I'd advise to bring it back and have them bleed it.
