Lightbulb Engine Management Light

First post as a new member. I am looking for any help with this one. I have now had 6 activations of the engine management light on my 2002 S40 1.6s. The code indicates a fuel pressure problem. The plugs have been changed the fuel treated and then the tank drained and a new filter put in. Still after reset the light comes on 2 to 3 days later. There are no obvious problems apart from an occasional slight feel that the car isn't pulling as well as it should. I am now close to despair as it has been going for a couple of months now.

Fuel pump? Fuel pressure regulator? Blocked injectors? Fuel/air leak in pipes?
Could be one of many things, code reader not more specific than just fuel pressure?
May need attention from a specialist as you seem to have looked at all the simple fixes.

I was low on fuel and this bloody light came on tonight as I pulled in service station.
Done 87900kms.
Seeing the mechanic tomorrow for answers!
I use V-power all the time.

Thats odd as the fuel pressure is not monitored on this engine so the system won't know what it actualy is .. Maybe fuel pressure is one of a possible cause of some other code you have ...

Took mine to mechanic and computer said minor fault code(had occured 40 times to register). Something about thinking the engine was cold and pumping more fuel into engine and converter taking up the excess. Supposedly would result in poor economy?

Was suggested to replace part (left/top/front of engine).
I suggested they reset faults and see how it goes.
No light as yet!
