Well they cleared the codes, took it for a drive and it broke down for them in the same way as it did for me but didn't throw any codes up!
They think it could be a coil pack that is faulty causing the engine to flood which is why it then won't restart. .................. |

Best of luck. Are they going to replace the coils?

Dont give up!
Hi Just read your thread, doesnt sound anything too major and as previously said its not your problem. Sounds like you are dealing with a decent Used car place as well. Dont give up on the car just yet! I am sure they will fix it and then you can begin to enjoy the car - and you will. There wont be much on the road that can keep up with you! These things go like a rocket and my V40 T4 makes me smile each time I leave some pimped up pile of junk in my dust.
Good luck and let us know how you get on. |

Coil pack should be replaced tomorrow so we will see how it goes. To be fair the Used Car Dealer has been good so far, it's just a shame i'm having to deal with all of this as i live to far away for them to do it.
Hopefully this will fix the problem and i can get into the car soon, if they think it's fixed i'll be taking a long drive on Saturday in the direction of the seller so if it breaks down again i can tow it to them!! |

Well it wasn't the coil pack as it broke down on them again. It sounds like i was lucky to get as far as i did on Saturday......
Didn't get time to ring the supplying dealer as this happened quite late today, i shall be calling them in the morning. To be honest the way i'm feeling now i will be pushing for a refund and never touching volvo again, i guess my next step will depend on their reactions!! |

There are two coils so if one failed the engine would just about run on the other 2 cylinders . Fuel pump is still favourite , they have checked the pressure whilst driving it surely?

Not sure, as they aren't a volvo garage i don't know if they have the correct equipment for that. I will ring and speak to the mechanic that has worked on it in the morning to see what he says.....
